Thresholds

‘Thresholds’, a live performance, embraces my search for vulnerability by placing myself and my emotions in front of an audience and address the shame we face while showing emotionality towards others and even ourselves. Stuck emotions are processed and released through the documented practice of standing on a Sadhu board (nail board), while the live body in space seems unbothered and emotionless.
Putting on a strong, cold face every day while internally facing the struggles of a human experience takes lifelong conditioning and energy, but unlearning these standards and unleashing the stuck feelings we have been holding back all our lives by addressing them and feeling right through them takes even more strength.

The journey of self-research and practice, of building stamina and overcoming limits, becomes the art. The path eventually gains more importance than the act of live performance, just showcasing a final conclusion in the whole process of becoming the work.
