They’ll dance thee and rock thee and sing thee to sleep

A body made between death and life.
The wax sculpture represents the duality of a body being made eternal by its creation through a lifeless, non-biotic material and its tranciency by the chance of melting and deforming by outer influence, fading away like human life does over time or just abruptly.

‘They’ll dance thee and rock thee and sing thee to sleep’ is an extension of the ‘Erlkönig’ series, where the marks of the arms shape a hug of protection and comfort, where comfort means welcoming death and consoling grief. The arm takes shape and becomes real but is only ever a cold segment of the living, a piece left behind.
